Neighbourhood cafe & bakery counter

Clear coffee, slow mornings.

Lucid Ward is a bright, quiet room built around one long counter: a filter bar that changes every week, pastry baked each morning and simple plates until mid-afternoon.

Our approach

A bright room, a short list, done carefully.

We kept the menu small so every cup and every bake gets full attention. Come early for a quiet table, or stop in on the way somewhere else. Either way, the counter is where it all happens.

  • Filter coffee that rotates weekly
  • Pastry baked every morning
  • Whole, oat and almond milk
  • Laptop-friendly tables before 11:00
  • Sheltered terrace, dogs welcome
  • Pastry boxes to take home
When to come

How the day moves

Every hour at Lucid Ward feels a little different. Pick the one that suits you.

Morning · from opening

Quiet start

Warm pastry from the oven, the first filter pour and plenty of free tables. Best for reading, writing or a calm catch-up.

Midday · 11:30 – 14:30

Full counter

Plates come out of the kitchen and the room gets livelier. Laptops rest so everyone can find a seat for lunch.

Afternoon · until close

Slow finish

Cold brew, the last tarts and pastry boxes to take home. Terrace tables get the best of the light.

Good to know

Before you visit

Quick answers to what people ask most. Anything else? Send a note through the form below.

Do you take table bookings?

Small tables are first come, first served. For groups of six or more, or a morning meeting, send an enquiry and we'll hold space where we can.

Can you cater for dietary needs?

Most drinks can be made plant-based, and there is always a vegan bake and plate on the counter. Please tell the team about allergies when you order.

Is it okay to work on a laptop?

Yes, before 11:00 and after 14:30. Over lunch we ask laptops to take a break so everyone can find a seat.

Can I buy beans or pastry to take home?

Whole-bean bags of the current filter are on the shelf, and pastry boxes can be packed any time the counter is stocked.
